The Future of our Diocese
The First Formal Proposal for the Renewal and Restructuring
of Our Diocese has now been published
On Wednesday 21st February a meeting was held in The Lady Chapel to discuss the development plan. The meeting was well attended and hosted by Fr. Martin and the St. Bede Steward of the Gospel.
A draft proposal for the Ilford Pastoral Area is available by clicking the link below.
The diocese website has a dedicated page for the development plan.
It appears that the streets around St Bede Church & School are patrolled by Traffic Wardens
seven days a week in response to the very considerable increase in the number of complaints made by local residents of inconsiderate and illegal parking. Please park lawfully in designated parking bays and never obstruct our neighbours’ access to their homes.
The Art of Dying Well
Providing hopeful accompaniment for the human journey
Dying well means different things to us all. Death is an individual experience, but a community of accompaniment on the journey can help us to prepare by bringing consolation and spiritual peace.
Fr. Martin is often nominated as a referee without his prior knowledge or consent. Any parishioner who wishes him to act in that capacity must meet him in person and give him a note of the reference required in advance.
Traditional Catholic Prayers
See the parish website for a great selection of traditional Catholic prayers
which you may find helpful for all times of the day/night
and in various needs and occasions
The Catholic Certificate of Religious Studies
The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is designed for people who are engaged in the communication of their Catholic Faith, whether directly or indirectly.
It is open to catechists, people involved in liturgical work and other interested adults.
The CCRS can provide general theological knowledge and offer a better understanding of the Catholic faith. It will help participants to increase their practical application of the faith in their ministry in the Church. It provides the means to accurately and effectively communicate the principles of Catholic teaching.

‘The Catholic Church has at most 10 years to adapt’
Supporting values that the majority of people have rejected makes us irrelevant
The Catholic Church, as well as everyone else, must understand
that the world was hit by a cultural tsunami in the 20th century.
We must humbly begin to pick up the pieces and put them back together again.
Two in One Flesh
We are a group of five married couples and a priest who have written several publications to enrich marriage. They are a new approach to scripture for married people. They will help them to understand the key messages in the Sunday readings.
Our Christian Brothers & Sisters
In Parts of the Arab world suffer persecution for the Christian Faith
Please continue to remember them in prayer
