Parking

It appears that the streets around St Bede Church & School are patrolled by Traffic Wardens

seven days a week in response to the very considerable increase in the number of complaints made by local residents of inconsiderate and illegal parking. Please park lawfully in designated parking bays and never obstruct our neighbours’ access to their homes.

The Art of Dying Well

Providing hopeful accompaniment for the human journey

Dying well means different things to us all. Death is an individual experience, but a community of accompaniment on the journey can help us to prepare by bringing consolation and spiritual peace.

The Catholic Certificate of Religious Studies

The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) is designed for people who are engaged in the communication of their Catholic Faith, whether directly or indirectly.

It is open to catechists, people involved in liturgical work and other interested adults.

The CCRS can provide general theological knowledge and offer a better understanding of the Catholic faith. It will help participants to increase their practical application of the faith in their ministry in the Church. It provides the means to accurately and effectively communicate the principles of Catholic teaching.

‘The Catholic Church has at most 10 years to adapt’

Supporting values that the majority of people have rejected makes us irrelevant

The Catholic Church, as well as everyone else, must understand

that the world was hit by a cultural tsunami in the 20th century.

We must humbly begin to pick up the pieces and put them back together again.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 25p to every £1 that you give to this parish at no cost to yourself by enabling us to reclaim the tax that you have paid on your donation, with Gift Aid. Simply put your donation in a completed and signed Gift Aid envelope and we’ll do the rest.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows your parish to    reclaim the tax that you have paid on your donation.

It works like this. If you are a taxpayer and give £10 to your parish, you will have paid tax on that amount. Your parish can get £2.50 back with Gift Aid, so your donation of £10 would become worth £12.50 and it wouldn’t cost you an extra   penny.

How do I sign Up for Gift Aid?

All you have to do is to fill in a Gift Aid form that requires you to: Give your name your

address, the date and the name of your parish. Sign a

declaration saying that you are a UK taxpayer and that you that you pay tax that is equal or

equivalent to the amount that your parish will reclaim.
